About Lori Gatsi-Barnett

I am an entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker, and Founder of the JoinHer Network.

I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and lived and studied in Pennsylvania, USA. I am an Experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the corporate and voluntary administration industry, and am skilled in advertising and marketing strategies, and as a business and motivational speaker and event host.

I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences arising from my work as a youth Ambassador with World Vision and the American Red Cross, for participation in numerous panel discussions, including one held at the headquarters of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland, and for my involvement in humanitarian community building projects.

Having lived and worked across different cultures and countries, the richness of variety within diversity demands change from us collectively to become the examples of a community transformed and strengthened by our sharing a vision of a brighter tomorrow.

Colonialism as an imposed sort of relationship. It’s not a two way, it’s a one way. It’s almost a sense of being trapped. That you don’t have an easy escape from this. It seems like something that has a never-ending... you know, trapdoors so to speak, like you’re in a maze of trapdoors and it’s very difficult to navigate a way out.
