“The idea of heading off to proselytize the world makes me very uncomfortable. I mean, who’s to say that a Presbyterian way of life is any better than a Buddhist? It was very much the poor benighted masses of Asia. And now I think about it, I can sort of divorce the objects and the people from what the intent was. But these days, it’s just something that doesn’t sit well with me anymore.”
